Milo's Late Green Barley
Ogilvy KL searched the globe for a pristine green barley field for the latest Milo TVC. Although late season, NZ really was the only feasible alternative during early April. Having just shot barley we were in a good position to steer friends Passion Pictures and director Richard Gibson to some stunning late maturing fields.
Natural Beer Creation
Kasztelan Polish beer sought locations to depict Poland’s Mazowsze landscape, natural source of ingredients and locality icon for the organic brand. 4th time client Propeller Film & director Marek Dawid engaged Joyride to piece it together shooting barley in Southland and sparkling stream waters in Kinloch area, Otago.
Aphrodite's to Flickerfest
Jan 2010 - Our Short Aphrodite’s Farm scored it’s third Academy ® accredited Film Festival when selected in competition at Australia’s Flickerfest currently showing throughout Australia. The other two accredited festivals were LA Shorts Fest and Nashville International Film Festival.
Amway’s Mighty River
Nov 2009 - Planet Films returned to capture eco-care style natural landscape scenes for Amway’s latest Malaysian spot. Based in scenic central North Island’s Taupo area and shooting mostly aerials of the powerful Waikato River, we relished assisting Director Zahir Omar and Producer Nicholas Wong push budgets around to make this production flow.
Ponds Taps Sacred NZ Waters
Nov 2009 - Drawn by the beautiful Bridal Veil Falls Joyride serviced this compact shoot for Great Guns Asia and Ogilvy Hong Kong. With Adam Strange Directing and James Cowley behind camera the weather turned on a stunner! Ogilvy Hong Kong’s Andrew Reznik & James Brook-Partridge were impressed with the locations.
Shots Feature Telecom TVC
Oct 2009 - The recent profile of Australia and New Zealand TVC production in Shots Magazine No.117 included Joyride’s Telecom XT ‘Dropped Calls’ TVC directed by Adam Strange and featuring legendary stunt woman Zoe Bell. Just goes to show that while some critics hate the campaign, others really love the spots!
Tranz Alpine Train Chase
Oct 2009 - Joyride hosted Mumbai based Chrome Pictures to capture exteriors of a train undertaking an epic journey through striking landscapes for India’s Tata Docomo TVC. The challenge was to shoot maximum footage of the train as it traversed the spectacular Southern Alps Tranz Alpine route on its one day return excursion.
Qantas Awards Nomination
Aug 2009 - Our short film ‘Aphrodite’s Farm’ has picked up a nomination for best Screenplay in the 2009 Qantas Film & Television Awards. Written by Peter Force and Screenplay a collaboration with Director Adam Strange we are honoured to take part in this prodigious awards ceremony.
Shoot 6 for Canon Asia
Jul 2009 - Singapore’s Mooi Productions ambitious return for latest Canon Asia spot again tapped our skills to successfully pull off in one day a live action sunrise beach shoot 1.5 hours from Auckland, and a VFX studio shoot. Although the long day caused some worries for Producers we still managed to bring it in under budget.
2nd Oscar Qualifying Festival
Oct 2009 - Short film ‘Aphrodite’s Farm’ gained its second official selection in Academy Awards qualifying festivals with it’s inclusion in the 13th LA Shorts Fest. This on the back of the official selection in Nashville International Film Festival during April. However, an Oscar nomination is probably more than we can hope for!
Telecom XT takes a Joyride
May 2009 - Lately we produced the controversial Telecom XT launch commercials featuring ‘Top Gear’s’ Richard Hammond. Directed by Adam Strange, Produced by Anzak Tindall and shot by Ben Freedman this short turnaround project from Saatchi’s Auckland had us shooting with less than 1 week prep in 5 countries over 2 weeks.
Mustard Truck Mayhem
Feb 2009 - Great mates Mustard London returned for an epic road shoot featuring an unlikely trio driving a large Truck around English look-alike country roads for Oatibix’s latest commercial. The lad’s road trip reaches crescendo as gradually they give into temptation & belt out in full song the lyrics of ‘My Sharona’.
Tata goes Safari NZ style
Oct 2008 - “What would you remember?” Catch phrase from this evocative commercial certainly summed up the experience. A truly unforgettable shoot! With Adam Strange directing and James Cowley shooting for Biscuit Films and Ogilvy Mumbai, we covered 2,000km of pristine NZ landscapes to produce a commercial aiming to depict a worldwide journey.
NZ Film Promo Video
May 2008 - New Zealand Trade & Enterprise contracted Director Adam Strange and Joyride to produce a new DVD showcasing New Zealand film-making capability to the world. Post house Oktobor supplied their services to support the venture and a slick 5min presentation sequence cut to a tasty home grown music selection ensued.
